How to Clean your Oven?

While cleaning your oven, we strongly advise you to avoid the harsh chemicals as these can lead to several side effects, affecting your health. Follow the given strategies and clean your oven safely.

  • Use Cleaning Products

First, you need to take out everything from the oven- such as thermometer, racks, and pizza stone. On the floor, lay paper towels or newspapers and wear gloves as well as safety glasses. Then, you have to spray the oven cleaner product in and around the oven. Remember, it must cover the top, bottom, backsides, front sides of the oven.

In case, you use an electric oven, don’t spray the cleaning product over the heating elements. Also, if you use a gas oven, then you shouldn’t spray on the areas from where the gas comes out. When done, simply close the oven.

Wait for 25 to 30 minutes and let the spray dry. In this time, we suggest you remove the racks and spray the cleaner over them. After that, place the oven racks within a large plastic garbage bag.

Now, after 30 minutes, you should take a damp cloth and wipe down the surface inside the oven. Also, take out oven racks from the plastic bag, then wash them with hot and soapy water.  Let the racks dry and thereafter place them to their previous position.

  • Use Baking Soda & White Vinegar

This is the best natural cleaning solution that you can try to clean your oven. To apply this solution, at first, take out everything such as racks, pizza stone inside from the oven.

Afterwards, place paper towels or newspapers on the floor of the oven. Prepare a mixture of 3 tablespoons of water with ½ cup of baking soda. You need to tweak the ratio until you convert it to a spreadable paste.

Wear the rubber gloves and after that, you should spread the paste inside the oven including the top, bottom, front sides and back sides. Like the previous method, you shouldn’t spray the baking soda on the heating elements, if you are using an electric oven.

Wait for 10 to 12 hours. At the same time, we advise you to place the oven racks in the bathtub. In addition, you must spray baking soda over the racks and thereafter, pour vinegar on the top. Lastly, you need to rinse the racks with warm water.

After 12 hours, use a damp cloth, then clean the paste from the interior surface of the oven. On a bottle, put some white vinegar and spray the vinegar on the chunks. Instantly, the vinegar will react with the vinegar and form a foam. Again, use a damp cloth and remove all the foam.

  • Use Apple Cider Vinegar

In order to wipe down the dried-up grease, we suggest you stir 1 cup of apple cider vinegar with 2 tablespoons of sugar. Then, you should spray the combination inside the oven and wait for 1 to 1.5 hours. When it becomes dry, use a microfiber cloth and wipe down the debris.

  •  Clean the Oven with Lemons

First, you need to fill up a mixing bowl with the water. Take two half pieces of lemon and put them within the bowl. Heat the oven up to 250 to 255 degrees. Next, you need to put the mixture bowl within the oven. Wait for 2 hours. After that, power off the oven, as well as open the door, and let the oven cool.

When the oven is still warm, wear the rubber gloves and then take a damp cloth. After that, thoroughly wipe down debris from the top, bottom, backside and front side. You might need to wipe down a couple of times in order to ensure that you have removed all the grease and grime.
